Carbone

While most people talk about the Veal Parmesan and the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka (which are MUSTS when and if you go to the Major Food Group’s restaurant) the surprise standout to me was the Squash Agrodolce. It was presented as an entire squash and then cut up. Honestly, maybe it’s because I’ve been to Carbone’s before but this dish surprised me the most. I was initially not going to order it, but my daughter, who has a propensity to order most things on the menu looked sad when I suggested we get the artichokes instead so I caved.

It was deliciously seasoned with spices and topped with marscapone. Need I say more? As usual we ordered way too much, it being the last big lunch of 2019 and I took all the leftovers home. I’m not typically good about eating leftovers but I cannot wait to dive into the squash later today. In some way it makes me feel like I won’t be overeating if it’s just squash :).
